Thinking skills – how many conkers?

This week the Gruffalo had put some conkers in his tin but forgotten how many. He left us a clue saying it was 1 more than 5. We worked out that was 6 then noticed there were lots more boxes in the classroom with clues so we had a go at working out how many conkers were in a box. We wrote our answers on post-it notes on the boxes.

Once we had worked out how many conkers were in our box we looked at our friend’s boxes to see if anyone had the same amount. We used the language we had been learning all week such as ‘more’ and ‘less.’

Finally we all came together to check our answers.
